Welcome to the Divine Healing Chiropractic new patient center — here's exactly what to expect on your first visit.
We understand that arriving at a doctor's office for the first time can be nerve-racking. If you've never experienced chiropractic care before, you may not know what to expect when you come to our Laguna Niguel office. Filling out paperwork, learning new faces and names, and getting to know your way around can be an overwhelming experience.
That's why our aim is to remove any unnecessary stress or tension and make you feel comfortable during your visit. In this area of the website you can take care of everything you need before you arrive. If you have any questions at any time, please don't hesitate to call us at (949) 249-2720.

Your first visit
What to expect
Step 1
Patient forms
Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We ask you to complete our patient forms, which give us your health history and information on your condition.
Step 2
Consultation
You will have a consultation with Dr. Azien Mousavi to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options — and for her to learn about you, your condition, and your expectations.
Step 3
Examination
Dr. Mousavi performs a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility, along with standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Step 4
X-ray studies
Depending on your condition we may take X-rays. They help us develop the most effective treatment plan and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close.
Step 5
Report of findings
Dr. Mousavi gives you a detailed report of all findings and answers your questions: how can you help me, how often do I need to come in, and what will my treatment cost. She will notify you if your condition requires care with other providers.
Step 6
Treatment
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment — which may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. Treatment is interactive, so you can raise concerns at any time.
Step 7
Wellness program
Before you leave, Dr. Mousavi suggests a wellness program to follow outside of treatment: ice or heat instructions, activities or positions to avoid, and at-home exercises or stretches. Every person is unique, so every plan is customized.

What does the consultation + exam + first treatment include?+
Your consultation + exam + first treatment ($129) covers your initial consultation, a comprehensive exam, any X-rays we determine are needed, your report of findings, and — when clinically appropriate — your first adjustment. We review everything with you before any treatment begins.
What should I bring to my first visit?+
Bring your ID and insurance card (if you're using insurance), and wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Arrive a few minutes early to complete your intake paperwork — or fill it out ahead of time if we send it over.
How long is the first appointment?+
Plan for about 45–60 minutes so we have time for a complete consultation, exam, and — when appropriate — your first treatment the same day.
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?+
For most people, no. Adjustments are gentle and many patients feel relief right away. You may hear a soft "pop" as pressure releases from a joint — that's normal and not painful. We tailor every technique to your comfort and explain what we're doing first.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?+
No. California is a direct-access state, so you can book with us without a referral from your physician. If your specific insurance plan requires one, we'll help you sort it out.
Is chiropractic care safe?+
Yes. Chiropractic is a widely recognized, conservative, drug-free approach for many musculoskeletal conditions. After your exam we'll flag anything outside our scope and refer you to the right provider when that's the better path.
Do you take insurance?+
We accept many major plans and also offer affordable self-pay options. Send us your insurance details and we'll verify your benefits before your visit — no surprises.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?+
Yes — chiropractic care is typically an eligible HSA/FSA expense. We accept HSA/FSA cards along with all major credit cards and cash.
How many visits will I need?+
It depends on your condition, how long it's been going on, and your goals. After your exam we recommend a specific, time-bound care plan and explain the reasoning — there's no open-ended commitment.
Can children and pregnant patients be seen?+
Yes. We offer gentle care for kids and expecting moms, with techniques always adapted to be safe and comfortable for every stage.
